Bloomfield Hills

Founded in 1932, this affluent community is steeped into the fabric of Southeastern Michigan. What was originally founded as a farming community in the early 19th Century, Bloomfield Hills became a haven for wealthy Detroiters. As they bought the land, formed the Village of Bloomfield Hills; they eventually voted to become their own city, separate from any other, in 1932. From the internationally acclaimed Cranbrook Academy of Art and its storied grounds to some of the more beautiful places of worship. Bloomfield Hills earned its industrial footing with its contribution to art and design, particularly the mid-century modern movement which is alive and well to this day. It will continue to play a critical part of the local commerce for years to come.
